This site is dedicated to the memory of Jenny Tee.

Jenny Tee was born on 9th March 1955 and died on 21st November 2013, aged 58. Jenny had been living very courageously with ovarian cancer for three years. Despite her illness, she had continued to live life to the full as far as possible. Mercifully she died peacefully at the Leicester hospice with close family and friends with her during her final hours. Jenny’s formative years were enjoyed in Reading as the only child of Barbara and Harry. Jenny enjoyed the company and friendship of several cousins who she grew up with, and remained close to throughout her life. Jenny had a passion for swimming and enjoyed performing as a member of a Reading synchronised swimming team. At age 18, Jenny commenced a five year Town & Country Planning degree course at Newcastle University, with one of those years spent on work placement in Somerset. Jenny made lifelong friends at Newcastle; including the special friendships she formed with her four housemates (you know who you are ladies). I am honoured to say that I also became Jenny’s friend at that time, where we used to often meet up in the Newcastle Student Union building’s Level 6 Bar. After graduating, Jenny moved to Twickenham and joined British Airways in the Operational Research department. I recall telling many people that she worked for British Airways. Their first response was usually “Is she a stewardess?”. I would reply “No, she works in Operational Research”. That would often lead to a blank expression on their face. It seems everyone knows what an air stewardess is, but few know what an operational researcher is. Following her British Airways career, Jenny switched the focus of her life towards the Community of St Francis, moving to the Compton Durville Convent in 2004. Jenny played a full part in Community life and made her Profession in Vows in 2009. From Compton Durville in Somerset, Jenny moved to the Community house in Birmingham and ultimately to Leicester. There she continued to play a full and active part in Community life, despite her diagnosis and treatment for ovarian cancer. Jenny was a very special person to me and many others. She was very good and kind to everyone she met in her life. May you rest in peace Jenny.
